I’d heard nothing but great stuff about Sam Campbell, which the contrarian in me was somewhat put off by, thinking that nothing could live up to the hype, but in the end (after seeing a few minutes I did a double bill with Ivo Graham and I’m so glad I did. The room wasn’t full (it being close to midnight), I was sitting at the back, and I loved it. It was one of those special experiences that you only get from live comedy where it feels like the show is being put on specifically for you but at the same time you’re almost outside of yourself being able to enjoy the atmosphere in the room as much as the show itself. I had a slight sense of euphoria as I walked away from the place.
