Objectively Funny Festival, Day 3! – Jordan Brookes: I’ve Got Nothing

    1st January 1970

    Objectively Funny Festival, Day Three!

    20th September 2019, 19:30 until 20 Sep 2019, 23:30

We’ve a huge Friday night triple-header with stratospheric newcomer Rosie Jones, Edinburgh Comedy Award nominee Jordan Brookes and 2018 top-20 reviewed sketch act, Moon!

    19:30 – Rosie Jones: Backward
    21:00 – Jordan Brookes: I’ve Got Nothing
22:30 – The Death Hilarious: Razer

    Rosie Jones: Backward

After a sell-out debut hour Rosie “triple threat” Jones returns to the Fringe with a big question: am I backwards, or are they? She explores the hilarious difficulties of navigating the world whilst being the only disabled, gay, northern comedian with quite the penchant for sexual aggression. Rosie’s second hour is certain to be a hit. ‘Smart, mischievous, laugh-out-loud funny’ (Chortle.co.uk). ‘Genuinely masterful’ (Skinny).

    Jordan Brookes: I’ve Got Nothing

No tricks. No gimmicks. No plan. Just an hour in my company as we reach the end. Things will be over soon. We’re nearly there everyone! Great work. But before we go, I’m making one last attempt to find connection in the here and now, to snuffle out any remaining joy in this rapidly crumbling world, before it’s too late. Edinburgh Comedy Award nominee 2017. Chortle Comedian’s Comedian Award winner 2018. ‘Majestic and challenging’ ***** (List). ‘Impressively brutal and self-lacerating physical comedy’ ***** (Skinny). ‘Digressive, deeply unsettling and very funny’ **** (Guardian).

    The Death Hilarious: Razer

Former sketch and character wonk has quit comedy in favour of the lucrative art of spiritualism. You will gasp and dilate hard as he allows the spirits of the Philip Schofield Memorial Tower to enter his every available orifice. These revenants tell an authentic working-class story of love, sex-workers, genocide, and a fox reading a bank statement. Imagine The Archers, except everybody’s on spice. Chortle Best Newcomer nominee 2018. ‘A bold and unique new voice in comedy’ (Steve Bennett, Chortle.co.uk). ‘Packed with countless elements rich, strange and deviantly chilling’ (Scotsman).
