DESCRIPTION:There was a time when we came here every year\, to sing songs a
 mongst the trees\, and tell tales beneath the stars to fill the sky with a
  bonfire built from laughter and love and joy and wonder.\n\nBut that was 
 years ago now.\n\nBack when life was a gathering glory of boundless potent
 ial. Back when simplistic sadness felt profound and broken hearts were plo
 t points and death was just a narrative device. Back when a night’s slee
 p could stretch out beyond noon and eating crispy shredded beef after midn
 ight had minimal digestive repercussions the following day. Back before bi
 rths and deaths and distance and doubt. Before beliefs buckled and hope ca
 me to feel facile and pyjamas started to almost always smell at least a li
 ttle bit of piss.\n\nAnd yet.\n\nHere we are again.\n\nIn the middle of th
 e night in the middle of the summer.\n\nUnder the sky.\n\nIn a park.\n\nRu
 mmaging in the rubble for something to burn\, a forgotten fragment of anyt
 hing flammable\, searching for something to set alight and hold aloft and 
 to fling it\, together\, once again\, out and up into the deepening dark.\
 n\nShow will include: Sad songs\, funny stories\, indefensible declaration
 s\, crosstalk\, technical difficulties\, sad stories\, moths\, funny songs
 \, quite possibly a chant and at least two\, standard lamps.

 n need of our support. More than 14 million people in the UK live below th
 e poverty line and the rise in food bank referrals has risen at least 81% 
 since 2019. Profits from both shows will go directly to supporting London 
 food banks within The Trussell Trust’s nationwide network and help fight
  food poverty in the UK.
